Our Schoolpartnership with EKNES, Norway
Norwegian teachers from EKNES Ungdomskole, Krokstadelva visited Gesamtschule Eiserfeld
Minutes from a meeting
11th to 14th March 2004

The aims of this teachers`meeting were

to plan the program for the next stay of students in Siegen and in Krokstadelva in May and September this year
to exchange information about the opportunity to get a Polish school in Kielce into our schoolpartnership
to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of expanding our schoolpartnership by a third school in order to apply for COMENIUS
and to visit CONCORDIA in Dermbach, the new accomodation for the Norwegian students in May

The results of the meeting were

a draft of the program for the stay of the Norwegian students in Siegen in May
the insight that a contact to the school in Kielce seems to be of barren results
the conclusion to contact a Polish school in Allenstein which might be a next step to expand our schoolpartnership; P.Steimle offered us his connections to a school there as well as his connections to the Bosch Foundation and the Deutsch-Polnisches Jugendwerk in order to get financial support from these organisations to arrange meetings and projects
the confirmation from our Norwegian colleagues Tor and Gyri who checked the devices and surrounding at CONCORDIA that this is an ideal accomodation for the 18 EKNES students and their teachers in May

Besides the discussions we had at Eiserfeld Gesamtschule a social program together with our Norwegian colleagues Tor and Gyri also deepened our good relationship to our partnerschool EKNES. A highlight was a visit of the Technical and Ethnographical Museum in Freudenberg. Thanks to our colleagues Günther Kläs for offering us his good connections to the museum and thanks to Heike Niwar for being a wonderful local guide in Freudenberg!
